High quality, meets versatility. I have limited space so having several movements for every muscle group is important. And it looks very cool in my home gym. I went with the leg extension attachment and the preacher curl pad. Also got the extra weight package and I really enjoy using all of it.
I’m 6’1 and had a leverage gym that was geometrically for a smaller person. I had no such issues with my FT2. I do work in with my 10 y o sometimes and he gets dialed right in.
I had the option for delivery and setup. It was money well spent.
Also, if you have an issue as I did. (Self created) inspire fitness was super responsive and helped me get back on track. Totally recommend it!

When looking for a Smith’s cage I came across this. It was fire for me because I can have a Smith’s cage and all the other bells and whistles. You will not be disappointed! The app has some room to grow yet bit you can find thousands of workout plans to go along with this.

My FT 2 was delivered and installed by Colorado Home Fitness-in late January 2021. I also recommend the professional installation. This is a solidly build versatile high quality machine. You can easily adjust the functional trainer to any angle desired giving you a huge variety of potential exercises. I particularly like the Smith bar set up as it allows you to do multiple compound exercises with a unique self spotting feature. The whole gym is very compact and easy to adjust. I showed it to a friend last year whole also then purchased one for his home and he also loves it.

First of all, let me say that I researched and dreamt about buying the FT2 for a couple of years before finally pulling the trigger. I watched every YouTube video I could find and measured the space for the FT2 at least a dozen times since the area is only 85” high. With only a few scratches to fix on the ceiling, my only regret is not buying this sooner (by the way, I have to have the record for the shortest installation).
When putting it together, you can really tell how over-engineered everything is. Every piece feels solid and fits exactly the way it was designed. How all the pulleys and cables work perfectly is still a mystery to me. I’ve decided that the way the smith bar moves to adjust the height without engaging the weight stack is just some magic that cannot be explained.
I purchased just about every accessory (bench, preacher curl, leg extension, lat bar, accessory rack), and I couldn’t be happier. The accessory rack is sweet. Here are my pros and cons:
PROS:
– Smooth operation – Every movement feels as good as equipment found in the gym.
– Weight doubler – I don’t think I will max out the weight of any exercise. I thought I might with the squat, but that hasn’t happened yet.
– Versatility – With a bit of creativity, you can complete any exercise.
CONS:
– Smith Machine engagement – It is not as intuitive as a typical Smith Machine with the hooks and pegs, and sometimes it gets stuck between holes. It also takes a little getting used to starting at the bottom of the movement for exercises like bench press and squat.
– Bench placement – Along with the versatility of the FT2 comes trying to figure out the correct place to put the bench for each exercise.

Bought the FT2 during covid when the gyms were shut down. A friend mentioned it, so I researched online and found nothing but positive reviews. Ordered through a local fitness store. Took 6 months to come in due to supply chain, but the machine has been amazing. As someone said to me, it really “does everything” and the build quality is exceptional. Impressive attention to every little detail. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Solid build, very convenient being able to use weight plate stack for smith option
Only issue occasionally the smith bar will lock into uneven positions so have to be make sure you check the position on each side.
Lifetime warranty on everything even cables they definitely stand behind their products

Solid built product
No need for separate weights smith machine attaches to the weight plate stack which is very convenient not having to move plates around.
Only complaint is the smith bar will occasionally lock into 2 different level so you have to watch out for that but I definitely recommend this product
Liftetime warranty on everything pulleys and cables included this company really stands behind their products.

This machine is unreal! Pro tip-when you want to take up any slack in the bar that may be there when you lock the rests, use the multiplier method. This will prevent any slack and give full range of motion! Everything about the machine is overbuilt and high quality. It has the smoothest operation. There’s a bit of adapting for starting sets at the bottom of the exercise, but it becomes natural with time.

Hard to find a bad thing to say about a product so well engineered. Operates smooth as glass, quiet, easy to operate. Two nits – pass on the preacher curl attachment (not very comfortable) and the leg attachment will feel short for those over 6’4″ Otherwise this is the best excuse not to drive to the gym that you will find.

I purchased this unit when my gym shut down during Covid, and it has been a great investment. Overall, it is a good build with the ability to cover all the muscle groups with one machine. It is perfect for what I need, and it should last for years to come.
Pros:
Fairly compact for all that it does
Mechanisms are smooth with good adjustability
Weights are included, but you might consider upgrading the stacks
Cons:
Cables bulge over time for some reason. I have had to replace 3 so far with no fix offered
Smith bar doesn’t lock into both sides consistently
Too much slack between the bar and weights
The stack selector pin doesn’t align properly with all of the weights in the stack
Instructions on how to make the fine adjustments are lacking
A few adjustments, and this system could jump from good to great. Looking for this to last many years.

I bought this during the early days of covid. I was going to the gym 5-6 days a week before they all shut down. I set up my home gym with the FT2, a treadmill and adjustable dumbbells. It is now 3 years later and I have never looked back. There is not a single machine or exercise that I miss. The FT2 gets used at least 6 days a week between myself and my 22 yr old son and his friends. I know it is expensive, but i have already gotten way more back in gym costs and time and convenience. I refer to this as an engineering marvel to my friends. It is really amazing how they built this to seamlessly alternate between every type of exercise you could think of. After 3 years of very heavy use, we have not had a single issue. This is a compact, heavy machine built to last a lifetime. If you are on the fence, just buy it. You will not regret it.
